SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
The manifests issued by the Chief Secretary has not reassured the protectionists, who consider it to imply that the duties will be altered at no distant date. They are taking steps to bring candidates against the Government. Mr Simpson has been asked to stand against the Treasurer, but he has not given a reply. Ministers address their constituents next week.
