The old maid who exclaimod, "My life has been a deserted waist!" can readily be believed. The new Vicar's wife : " I trust we shall see you at church on Sunday, Mrs Gfrubble P I hear you have not been attending lately." Mrs Grubble : " Navr, aw didn't loiko laasfc paarson ; I tliawfc un a ojus hidjus idgit." N. V. W.: " Dear me, Mrs Grubble, where did you acquire your knowledge of Latin ?" The following is still going the rounds : " A strolling theatrical company was at the dinner table. A waiter approachod one of the members and said : " Soup ?" " No, sir!" replied the guest.. "I am one of the musicians." This is too familiar a story to permit it 3 mutilation. In the time of Adam and Eve the answer was : " I am the leading man."
