ARTILLERY VOLUNTEERS.
The third competition for the Hawke's Bay Rifle Challenge Cup by the above company took place this morning at the usual range, firing commencing at 6 a.m. A very strong right front wind prevailed during the firincc at the last three ranges, which will account for the shooting not being quite up to the usual average for this crack shooting company. The ranges, &c, were 200, 300, 400, and 500 yards, five shots at each, no sighters. We append the scores of the ten highest, by which it will be seen that Lieutenant Pell and Gunner Fulford tied for the coveted trophy, but that, in counting back in accordance to Government regulations, Gunner Fulford is declared the winner. 200 300 400 500 yds yds yds yds Tl, Gunner Eulford ... 17 13 14 17 61 Lieut.
