At the wool sale to-day 4700 bales were offered. The tone of the auction was firm. The House ot Commons to-day voted a grant of £5,000,000, which is to be made to the Indian Government as England's share of the cost of the last Afghan war. March 17. A box containing 40lbs of gunpowder, with a burning fuze atta.hed, was found last night on the ledge of the wall of the Mansion House.
