March 14. The Heathcote regatta on Thursday was well attended, and there was excellent eport. Kaiapoi wins three races, including the champion four-oared, and the United Club, Cbristchurcb, two. The clothes belonging to a young man named George Innes were found on the beach at Sumner yesterday. Innes is supposed to have been drowned while bathing. James Scott late manager for Messrs Chatmos and Fairfield, United States, was arrested at Ashburton yesterday on several charges, including forgery. The Governor left for the South at 8 o'clock this morning by special train.
