WHEREAS it is proved that no Valuation List for the TAMUMU HIGHWAY District has been prepared, as required by " The Rating Act, 1876, " NOTICE is hereby given that I, the undersigned, HARRY EYRE KENNY, Judge of the Assessment Court for the said Bighway District, have appointed ALEXANDER MoHARDY, Esquire, to be the Valuer to make such valuation list, and I do further appoint THURSDAY, the 31st day of March, 1881, for the completion thereof; and I direct that the said List shall be open for public inspection at the School House at Tamumu, from the Ist day of April, 1881, to the 30th day of April, 1881, and that all objections thereto Bball be delivered at the Court House, Waipawa, on or before the 31st day of May, 1881, addressed to the Assessment Court; and I do further appoint a sitting of the said Assessment Court for the hearing of the said objections to be held at the Court House, Wa.pawa, on FRIDAY, the 3rd day of June, 1881, at 10.30 o'clock a:m. TAKE NOTICE—That on MONDAY, the 14th instant, it is the intention of tbe District Board to make a rate of three pence (3d) in tbe pound on all the rateable property in the District, excepting that part known as the Township of Hastlugs, including North, South, and East Hastings, where it is intended to levy a rate of one Bhilling ia the pound on all the rateable property. The rate will be made for the year ending 30th June, 1881, and will become payable on the 15th day of March in? taut.
