BLENHEIM.

March 11. A further enquiry into the stranding of the steamer Mohaka was commenced this morning before Mr Mclntyre, R.M., and Captains Cross and Lambert, nautical accessors. At the request of Mr Sinclair, who appeared on behalf of the Marine Department, the master and mate were called by the Court, and informed that the charges about to be made against them might result in the cancellation of their certificates ; if they were desirous of having time and the aid of counsel to enter into a defence they should say so. They stated tbat they did not require time. Mr Sinclair submitted that the mate was guilty of gross carelessness and incompetency in giving the helm and leaving the vessel in charge to the steward and a seaman.
