N.Z. RIFLE ASSOCIATION'S ANNUAL PRIZE FIRING.

Nelson, March 10,

Match 12 was fired yesterday. The North Island Carbine Team was composed of H. Dixon (Wellington Navals), who made the highest score, 76 ; Armstrong (Thames), second, 74; Thomas (Thames), third, 64; Davy (Wellington) fourth, 71 j C. France (Wellington), fifth, 70. The other members of the team were Cameron (Thames), A. Dixon (Wellington), M'Lean (Wanganui), F. France (Wellington), Gordon (Thames). In the Consolation Match only three prizes were awarded— £5 given by the Association, and three-fourths of the entry money divided between the second and third men. Sharland (Nelson) took the first prize of £5 ; Wilson took the ■econd of £2, and Marshall (Otago) thsrd of £1 5s 4d.

The prizes were distributed in the afternoon by Mrs Suter, wife of the Biship of Nelson. Major Baillie stated that over £650 had been distributed in prize money by the Association. He spoke in satisfactory terms of the meeting, and specially referred to the prizes of plate and money given by Nelson citizens, which he said were of greater value than any previous •pecial prizes.
