(BY TEiEGRPH.) Wakgantji, March 9. The betting oa the Wanganui Cup is 3 to 1 against Libeller, Natator, and On Dit; 4to 1 against Kandwick; 6 to 1 against Don and King Quail; Bto 1 against Opawa, Norsemon, and Fonl Play; 100 to 10 against Sir George, 100 to 12 against Soukar ; 100 to 8 against Rocket; 100 to 5 against. Redeemer and Badsworth. Over fifty horses were on the training ground yesterday, and good work was done. Among the Cup candidates Sir George was first out, and did the distance at a good strong pace, and finished fairly, although he did not get any faster towards the end. Bylong, the Sydney horse, did a steady mile, Prairie Bird his companion, picking up and taking him along for three quarters of a mile, when By-long came away, running very strongly. Dan, with tbe sweaters on, cantered once round, when Chandler joined him, and the pair did a fast mile, the Cup horse comiug away as he liked, and running; like a race-boree, Norseman did 9 sweat, joiag three times round,

Mr Redwood's two-year-old Dauphin joining him for two miles ; the Cup horse did not move very freely. Libeller and Randwick did two miles, both going very well; Libeller shewed the best action, Randwick being rather on the big side. King Quail div a mile in company with Ngata, the Derby colt, who had the Australian jockey Williams up; the Quail moved witb more freedom than before, but did not go over fast. Opawa went a mile alone, and then was joined by Hailstorm ; Opawa showed plenty of vigor, but scarcely enough pace. Foul Play cantered once round, and was joined by Badswortb, and they vent the Cup distance ; at the finish Foul Play bad much the best of it. The Slander filly covered a mile in good style. Billingsgate cantered twice round steadily; he is not doing much work, as his knee may give way. Rocket and Redeemer went together, and moved very freely. The Hurdle horses Grey Momua and Artful Joe did some schooling.
