SYDNEY.
March 5. The cricket snatch between the Australian team and the combined eleven of New South Wales and Victoria was resumed to-day. The Australians, in their first innings, were all desposed of for 155, being 42 runs less than the total of their opponents first innings. Murdoch with 65, and Blackham with 36, both bowled, were the highest scorers for the Australians. The combined team went to the wickets for their second innings, but play was stopped by the inclemency of tbe weather when they had put together 74 runs for two wickets Massie was bowled for 50. There was a large attendance at the match. March 7. Authentic information has been received here from the Mount Poole Goldfields in the Grey ranges that five bun* dred men are there, and perfect order prevails, but the Chinese have been denied access to the ground. The average yield up to the present has been an ounce and a half per load. It is stated that the field is considered untenable unless rain falls, as water is very short. Cnly twenty of of the miners are known to be on gold.
