The Union Steamship Company's s.s. Tararua arrived here from Melbourne via Hobart and Soiithern ports at about 7 o'clock last night. She was immediately tendered by the launch Boojum with the mails and outwaad passengers. The following ie the report of her passage :—Left on the 16th ; arrived at Hobart at 7 p.m. on the 18th ; sailed at 4 a.m. on the 19th ; and arrived at the Bluff at 5 a.m. on the 23rd ; sailed at 4 p.m., and arrived at Port Chalmers at 6 a.m. on the 24th ; sailed at 6.30 p.m., and arrived at Lyttelton at 9 a.m. on the 25th : sailed at 6 p.m., and arrived at Wellington at 5 p.m. on the 26th ; sailed at 11 p.m., arriving as above. From Melbourne to New Zealand fair average weather was experienced, and thence to arrival :' .ng northerly winds. Sho resumed her voyage shortly after tho launch. 7 eft her, as tho ketch Admiral wus unable to lay alongside her to take in the cargo. Up to one o'clock to-day she had not arrived at Oi/oorne. The s.s. Maori, Capt. Anderson, returned from Wairoa via Mohaka at 6 o'clock o" Saturday night, bringing a good load of fruit unci wool as well as several passengers. The s.s.
