For this Regatta—By an Amateur shall bo understood tlu reverse of a Professional ac defined by the "Australasian" of October 25th, 1879, viz. :— " A professional rowor is a person who lias earned or is earning his living on tho water ; who has been engaged in boat-building, or letting or tending of boats; who haa competed against watermen aL any Regatta ; or who has rowed for or received a money prize, or taken money in recognition of his skill in rowing " 8 Each pulling boat shall carry a distinguishing flag. 10.
