February 26. A. clerk named Halthouse was practising with a pistol in a back yard on Thursday evening, he struck a little boy named George Healy over the region of the heart with a bullet. The injury is serious, but it is not likely to be fatal. Haltbouse has been arrested and remanded.

Robert Boyse, aged twelve years, was ordered to be whipped and sent to the Industrial School for a month yesterday for stealing £2 worth of dressed timber.
