February, 24 —Go-Ahead, s.s., for Wellington. Passenger—Mr My hill. 24—Kiwi, 5.3., for Poverty Bay. Passengers—Messrs Shepphnrd, H. R. Gunn, Bristoe, D. Fernie, and Lum Ki. 24—Fairy, s.s., for Gisborne via Mohaka, Mahia, and Wliangawliei. 25—Venus, ketch, for Mercury Bay.
The s.s. Go-Ahead, Captain F. Dicker, steamed for Wellington via the coast at 3.30 p.m. yesterday, taking 200 sacks of grass seed. The steamer Kiwi, Captain Campbell, left for Gisborne at 10 o'clock last night, taking about 30 tons of cargo from here, consisting of a small locomotive a three ton monkey, and a quantity of piledriving machinery, for Mr J. _. Davies, as well as some general cargo and tanks. The topsail schooner Gleaner, and the brigantine Linda Weber, are ballasting this morning, and hope to get away for their respective destinations this afternoon at high water. The movements of the Union Company's boats are as under :—The s.s. Albion having been detained in Auckland on account of the enquiry into the Isabella Pratt disaster cannot leave until to-night, -which will make It Sunday night or Monday morning before sho can arrive here. The s.s. Tararua is to leave Wellington to-morrow afternoon, and will arrive here about midday on Sunday, sailing again at 4 o'clock. The s.s. Fr.iry, Captain Campbell, left for Gisborne, via Mahia, Mohaka, and Whangawhei, at 9 o'clock last night, with a full load of posts, rams, and general cargo. She is to return via Pourere.
The fectch Venus, Capt. King, sailed for Mercury Bay this morning in ballast, and is to return with another load of timber for Mr H. Gunn.
