LONDON.
February 10. The remains of the late Thomas Carlyle have been interred at his native village Ecclefechan in Dumfriesbire. February 11 The Queen and Prince of Wales intend permitting their pictures, now on view at the Melbourne Exhibition, to be exhibited in Adelaide during the proposed South Australian exhibition. February 12. Further deplomatic revelations have been made in connection with Russian designs in Central Asia in 1876. The correspondence shows that Russia was prepared to divide Central Asia with England on certain conditions.
The Basutos have been effectually subdued, and an now appealing for an armistice.
