TARADALE SCHOOL.
[To the Editor of the Daily TbIEGUATH.] Sir, —As the appointmemt of Miss Snell as pupil teacher to the Taradale school is at present causing much unfavorable comment in the district, will you kindly allow me space in your columns to give an explanation, the present committee being accredited with the honor of making the recommendation to the Education Board, when in reality tbey had no voice in the matter. I find, in referring to the minutes of meeting of the late committee, the recommendation was made at their last general meeting, held on the sth January, 1881. Injustice to the present committee I append the resolution relative to the point in question as it appears in the minutes: —"Proposed by Mr Golding, and seconded by Mr Kittow, that Miss E. J. Snell be recommended for the appointment of pupil teacher to the Taradale school." Trusting you will insert the above,—l am, &c, W. Watehhousb. Secretary to Committee. Taradale, 18th February, 1881.
