quently did not have a very prosperous appearance. The onlj figures represented on its face were three on Momus, andthe three happy depositors of the money had the satisfaction of withdrawing it less 10 per cent. The four got away quietly, Kate leading, with Grey Momus immediately behind, and Dick close up to them. When half round Kate Coventry went off the course. Shortly after Dick and Grey Momus went past the stand together, both taking their hurdles in grand style. Half way round Grey Momus had slightly the lead, going steadily. Dick went splendidly, and came past the judge neck and shoulders behind. MAIDEN PLATE. l£ miles. Friths g c Greyhound, 3yrs. Bst 31b 1 Henderson's b m Wheel of Fortune, 3yrs, Bst 2 Dillon's g h Starboard Watch, 4yrs, 9dt 3 Owen's Sir Tatton, Redward's Falcon, and Stevenson's Lady Grey also ran. The race was given as between Falcon and Sir Tatton. The flag fell to a good start, Ftarboard Watch and Sir Tatfon leading till past the stand. Wheel of Fortune then went up and Sir Tatton fell behind, Falcon bringing up the rear. This order was maintained to the straight, when Greyhound rushed up and won by a length. Time, 2min. 28*ec. MARYBOROUGH CUP. Owen's eh g Sir George, 3yrs, 7st Blb 1 Riley's b m Rose, 4yrs, 6st 2 Barry's eh g Hero, 6st 81b 3 —Robinson's Satellite, Ward's Heather Bell, and Dillon's Parole also ran. Up to the time of the race Sir George was far awajr the favorite, but in the saddling paddock opinions at the last were with many favorable to Hero and Satellite, both of whom appeared in splendid condition. The betting in the totalisator was in favor of Sir George. All got off with a good start, and kept well together —Rose first, Satellite second, Hero third, and Sir George fourth. This order wa9 maintained until past the stand; Hero then fell last, going easily, and Sir George moving up. Entering tbe straight Rose had a struggle with Sir George, Hero following.
