NELSON.

February 3. A fire broke out in Shelbourne street last night, by which two houses were destroyed. The house occupied by McLeary, in which the fire originated, was totally consumed. The fire had a good hold before it was discovered. The insurances were £50 in the Norwich, and £100 in the Sun on the house the contents being insured in the Norwich for £100. The adjoining house, occupied by Mr Rose, was only covered by insurance in the Union office for £100, but a large quantity of the contents were saved. The fire was confined to the two buildings.
