HOSPITAL COMMITTEE.
The first meeting of the new Hospital Committee was held at the Council Chambers yesterday afternoon. Present —His Worshin the Mayor, Dr de Lisle, and Messrs Banner, M'Kay, Cotterill, Tanner, and J. A. Smith.
The election of officers resulted in the Mayor being re-appointed chairman, Mr J. A. Smith honorary secretary, and Messrs Lyndon and S. J. Williams auditors. Mr Banner was elected treasurer. Tbe Mayor, Dr de Lisle, and Messrs M'Kay, Tiffen, and Smith, were elected as a visiting committee. Messrs M. R. Miller, A. J. Cotterill, and H. S. Tiffen, were appointed as the charitable aid committee.
The Secretary reported that there was that day a balance in the bank of £1112 Is Id. Accounts to the amount of £824 were passed for payment. Dr Spencer wrote tendering his resignation as a member of tbe committee, which was accepted with an expression of regret. * On the motion of Mr Tanner it was reBolved that the committee should meet at 2.30 p.m. on the first Friday in every month, instead of on the first Wednesdays as at present. The meeting then r adjourned.
