TIMARU.
February 1. Timothy Fitzgerald, a laborer, was drowned while bathing yesterday afternoon in tbe river Waiho, eight miles from Wflimate. Richard Power, a working man, who was sentenced a week ago to a fortnight's imprisonment for stealing a screw* wrench from an employer, had his case reheard, and the additional evidence causing a strong doubt on his conviction he was discharged.
