All entries to be accompanied by entrance fees and colors, and to be addreased to the Secretary, Criterion Hotel, Napier 4. For this Reeatta—By an Amateur shall be understood the reverse of a Professional as defined by the " Australasian " of October 25th, 1879, viz. :— " A professional rower is a person who has earned or is earning his living on the water ; who has been engaged in boat-building, or letting or tending of boats; who has competed against watermen at any Regatta ; or who has rowed for or received a money prize, or taken money in recognition of his skill in rowing " , , 8.
