WHALE-BOAT RACE-For bona fid? whaleboats ; five oars or more, to be steered with a steer-oar; open to all' corners. Distance about 2 miles. Entrance, £1. First prize, £10 ; second prize, £210s. 2. INTERPROVINCIAL REPRESENTATIVE RACE —(Open to amateurs only) for Four-oared Inrigged Gigs of any build, with coxswain. Distance. 2 miles. Entrance, £4. Firat prize, value £30; second prize, £5. 3. MAORI CANOE RACE—Not less than twenty men in each canoe. Distance, 1 mile. Entrance free. First prize, £10; second prize, £2 10s 4. SENIOR FOURS—For Four-oared Inrigged GiRS. Open to all Amateurs who have not rowed in Race No. 2. Distance, 1 mile. Entrance, £2. First prize, value £15 ; second prize, 5. ROB ROY CANOE RACE—Distance \ mile (round a buoy). Entrance, 2s Gd; three entries or no race. Prize £2. 6. JUNIOR FOURS—For Four-oared Inrigged Gigs. Open to all Amateurs who have not rowed in Races Nos. 2 and 4. Distance 1 mile. Entrance £2. No entry will be received after the stated hour and date on any pretence whatever 5. First race to start at C All Races to be rowed under Henley Rules 7. The decisions of the Umpire and Judge shall in all cases be final. 8. For this Regatta-By an Amateur shall be understood the reverse of a Professional as denned by the " Australasian " of October 25th, 1879, viz. :— " A professional rower Is a person who has earned or is earning his living on the water; who has been engaged in boat-building, or letting or tending of boats ■ who has competed against watermen at any Regatta ; or who has rowed for or received a money prize, or taken money in recognition of his skill in pulling boat Shall carry a distinguishing To.
