RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT
This Day. (Before Captain Preece,R.M.) DHUKKENNES3. William Smith, cbarged with drunkenness pleaded guilty, and wan finea 5s and Costs, or 48 hours imprisonment. Charles Cole, charged with the fame offence, pleaded guilty, and was fioed 5s and costs or 48 hours imprisonment. He was further charged with assaulting W. T. Limbrick. Prisoner admitted having got drunk at plaintiff's hou»e. and said he didn't know what he was doing. W. T. Limbrick said prisoner was at his house most of the day. At about half-past eight in tbe evening he asked for a pint of beer, with which he was supplied. He then went on to the verandah and Btruck a man who was sitting there. He then put his fist through a window, and then went away. Witness followed him and found him near the swamp. Witness stumbled and fell, and prisoner drew a knife and threatened bim with it. Prhoner did not strike him.
The prisoner was further charged with breaking a window of the value of 93.
His Worship dismissed the charge of aisault, and fined prisoner 10s and costs for breaking the window, with 93 the cost of window.
