LONDON.
January 11. The rumor current last week of the intended Fenian raids on the volunteer armouries are renewed, and are again receiving the attention of the authorities. The reports now received point to the possibility of attacks on the military establishments at Gosport and Chester Castle, and extensive precautions are being taken in both places to withstand any assault.
It is officially annpunced that Lieut.General Sir Donald Stewart, who commanded the British army in Oabul, will shortly succeed General Sir Frederick Haines as Commander-in-Chief in India.
