The Fire Brigades conference will be attended by three delegates from Christchurch, two from Dunedin, and from Naseby, Rangiora, Port Chalmer?, Waimate, Morningtou, Caversham, and Napier, one each.
A match for £200 a side has been definitely arranged between Philps' Native Cat and Kirk wood's Our Pony, to come off on the second day of the Dunedin meeting. The distance is three miles, Native Cat giving his opponent five seconds start. The first deposit of £50 a side has been made.
