January 8. The Board of Trade returns for last month have been published. Tbe imports amount to £33,187,500, being a decrease of £2,125,000 compared with last year. The exports amount to £18,187,500, being an increase of £1,625,000.

Acting under instructions from the Government, the authorities in Ireland continue to take active measures to repress tbe disorder which still prevails in many districts. Further arrests of Land Leaguers have been made, and tbe accused kept in custody, and warrants will continue to be issued for the arrest and imprisonment of tbe prominent agitators. All the land meetinas are forbidden, and every endeavoar is Toeing maile to suppress "Boycotting" or the ostracising of the landlords, to prevent the gathering of the crops in tbe manner adopted against Captain Boycott, of Ballinrobe.
