Hollis, his par‘ner. The president. Mr. ,1. A. Betts, the vicepresident. Mr. C. J. Bennett. Mr. J. M. Payton (steward!. Mr. A. c. Pearce (president of the Wairarapa Racing Club). .Mr. N. c. C. Shepherd (secretary of the Wairarapa Racing Cjijbt. Mr. I’. R. George (representing the trainers). and Mr. H. Mortenson 'see rot ary of the Carter! Racing Club». paid warm tributes to Mr.James' long, efficient and, loyal service and referred to his courtesy on all occasions. Mr. .Tames expressed appreciation of the gift and the remarks made.
