PRICE OF CHILDREN’S CLOTHING

"The prices of children's clothing, as in tiie ease of clothing generally, ami all other classes of commodities, are fixed by tin- Price Tribunal at each stage right from the manufacturer to the public.’’ said the Minister of Supply. Mr. SULLIVAN, in a written reply to a question by Mr. Denham (L„ Invercargill). The Minister added that in rhe determination of such prices full regard was paid to the fact that the sales tax on clothing had not been increased. Because of the essential nature of children's clothing, lower margins covering profit and overhead had been allowed by the tribunal to wholesalers and retailers than on certain other types of clothing.
