43,000 Prisoners In Normandy (British Official Wireless.) (Received July 3, 5.30 p.m.) RUGBY, July 2. It is disclosed by Allied headquarters that 43,01)0 prisoners have been taken by the American First ,Arpiy since D-day, states a correspondent. To this can be added many thousands taken by the British forces. It is also revealed that' there are now five S.S. panzer divisions, two ordinary panzer divisions and four infantry divisions in the Tilly-Caen area. The panzer corps operating in the area come from Russia. According to the correspondent, Lieut.General Bradley is stated to be commanding the United States First Army, in France, which includes all the United States ground troops in Normandy.
