Events In Guatemala (Received July 2, 7 p.m.) GUATEAIALA CITY. July 1. General Jorge Übico has resigned tin' presidency of Guatemala and a military junta lias taken over the CovernmeiH. The Government’s suspension of constitutional rights on June 22 was a prelude to the resignation of tlie Übico Cabinet, precipatated by a strike of national university students which threatened to spread swiftly. The junta was formed by Generals Eduardo Ariza, Frederico I’onee, Buenaventura and I’iticda. and it promised the restoration of constitutional rights. It is forming a new cabinet.
