One more series of games in the Wellington senior men's hockey championship han been played without Karori or Varsity A dropping a point, and their meeting in the last series of the first, round, on Saturday week, will arouse keen interest. Hula, after their defeat by . Karori a week before, returned to the winning list with n win over College Old Boys by three clear goals. It Is some time since the Old Boys' men failed to score. Air Force, too. are" proving themselves among the better teams of the competition. They beat Technical Old Boys by.a two-goal margin. It has been noticeable this season that increasing numbers of players deliberately infringe the, rules Io bust moment moves to prevent their opponents scoring, relying on the hope that the inevitable penalty nully may go'in their favour. This seems hardly sporting, and would indicate that the time is approaching when referees will have to be given the power to award penalty goals in such circumstances.
