Snow On Foothills Dominion Special Service. PALMERSTON N.. July 2. Bleak weather prevailed'in the Palmerston North district yesterday. Snow lav low on the. hills east: of the city and the foothills behind Ashhnrst, Raninai, Awahou South and Awahott North were thickly covered, snow tailing during the day tn the Utnw.ai and L'nintoi districts. The temperature at 9.30 a.m. was 39 degrees, find by 11 n.m. it hnd only risen to 10 degrees.
