Profit ■ Profit. of Imperial Chemical Industries Ltd. for 1943 was £(1.685,315 sterling, compared with £0.499,839 in 1942. The result lias again been arrived at after providing for undisclosed taxation and £2,500,009 for the central obsolescence and deprcciadon fund. Ordinarv dividend is again 8 per cent., less United Kingdom tax, reditced by Dominion relief of 7d. in £1. Directors have appropriated £774.210 to the war contingency reserve against £601,595 and £1(10.090 (unchanged) to the war personnel reserve. Provision for the dividend on pref, stock amounts to £1.682,468, and for the ordinarv distrihutio:i to £4.032,1-1.8, leaving carrv forward of £1,062,018, compared with £965,499 brought in. Australian Share Prices The Federal Government is unlikely 1o agree to any large-scale relaxation of the system of ceiling prices of shares. This was stated officially in Sydney last Tuesday. A number of conferences have ben held between the Federal Treasurer, Mr. J. B. Clilflev. and Stock Exchange representsfives on Um question, and 'it Is reported that Mr. Chifiey is opposed to any redaxalion at present. Gold Mining North Kalpurli (19121 Ltd. reports that during the period ended May *>0 7881 tons were treated for a recovery of 2307 ounces. Associated field Dredges last week returned 115 ounces for .2871 hours from 47,300 yards.
