Six Months
Net Customs revenue collected at the port of’ Wellington last month showed a decrease compared with June, 11)43. Beer duty was also down, but sales tax and war tax showed increases. For the first six months of this year increases are shown under all beads. Last month net Customs revenue totalled £220.074, compared with £252,77S in June, 1943, a decrease of £32.701. For the six months the total is £1,381,-11)6 compared with £1,358,721 for the. corresponding period of last year, an increase of £25,685. Sales tax last month amounted to £119,119, against £102.985 in Juno, 19-13, an increase of £16,131. For the six months period the totals are £<’>o7,6oo and £548.571 respectively, an increase of £59.029; Beer duty in June totalled £17.473, compared with £19,771 in June ,1943, a decrease of £2295. For the six months the totals are £110,017 and. £92,151 respectively, an increase of £17,866. War tax collections hist n, onfn amounted to £416,555, against £356,863 in June, 1943. an increase of £29,695, For the six months the totals are £2.274,097 and £2,128.256 respectively, an increase of £145,84.1. .
