DIVISIONAL HEADQUARTERS, Italy. June 29. . The Second New Zealand Division's newspaper, "'The N.Z.E.F. Times,” among the first of its kind published in the Middle East, Ims completed three years of unbroken publication. First produced in Cairo as a four-page sheet, it has developed to a most presentable 12-ptige publication., A good newspaper standard bus always been maintained, thus providing a. sound link between the servicemen and New Zealand as well as recording the activities of the division and presenting an outlet for Hie literary and artistic work of the members of the forces.
The paper has been able to maintain. itself from the beginning by its advertising revenue. It receives- news by cable from New Zealand, combined'with a service from Hie United Kingdom covering Hie activities of New Zealand airmen. As tlie paper Ims grown so has the st ait. and shortly after commencing publication in Italy a wholly New Zealand typographical section was engaged. Hie men being selected from various units,of tlie division as were the members of Hie literary sluff.
