MURDER OF CAPTURED BRITISH SOLDIERS
LONDON, June 29. Authenticated statements by French civilians show that the Germans shot’ small groups of captured British soldiers as a reorisal for the alleged shooting of German prisoners by the British, states Reuter’s correspondent in Normandy. He adds that such incidents, reported from two places where bodies were discovered, leave no doubt about the soldiers’ fate. The numbers killed were not great, Berlin radio stated that over 1000 Allied prisoners were marched through the streets of Paris today from the Gare du Nord to the Gare de I’Est. “There were some incidents when the population tried to lynch some Americans.” it added.
