TRIBUTE TO LIBERTY SHIPS

June 30. “Liberty ships, though obsolete, will take their place in history with the vessels of Coloinbus and Drake,” said RearAdmiral Vickery, vice-chairman of the Maritime Commission, at San Francisco. He added: “We could not have fought the war without Liberty ships.” He quoted Mr. Churchill as- saying that Liberty ships kept England from caving in.
