RELIGIOUS NOTICES. Cl 1 lIISTADELPHIAN LECTURE 1.0.0. F. HALL, ALLEN STREET (Opp. Paramount Theatre), COURTENAY PLACE THE SIXTH ’LECTURE of the Series under the title of “Will’ THE BIBLE IS THE WORD OF GOD” will be delivered (God Willing) in the above Hall on SUNDAY at 7 P.m., when . the subject will be—-“J’UESENT-D.I Y FULFILMENT OF PIIOI’IIECY’ PROVING THE BIBLE TO BE THE WORD OF GOD.” “YE lIYI’vCIiITES, YE CAN DISCERN THE FACE OF THE SKY, BUT CAN YE NOT DISCERN THE SIGNS OF THE TIMES’/” (Jesus, in relation to His first coming—MaJ.t. 16:3, Acts 13:27, Acts 18:28). Tin. object of tliis Sunday’s lecture is to show: — (1) THAT it is clearly revealed in the Scriptures that before Christ returned to eartli certain events would transpire by which those enlightened in Hie Scriptures would "SEE THE DAY APPROACHING” (Ilebs. 10:25, 1 Thess. 5:1-5, Luke 21:28-31, Hab. 2:3). (2) THAT some of the events which in coming to pass were to herald Christ’s return are:— (a) Tile decline ot the Turkish Empire, and. particularly Turkey’s loss of Palestine (Rev. 16:12-15). (b) Britain’s (Tarshish) occupancy of Palestine (Ezekiel 38:13). (e) A preliminary restoration, of the scattered nation of Israel to Palestine (Roms. 11:2, Homs. 11:15, Eze. 37:21-22. Jer. 31:10, Jer. 31:28, Eze. 36:24, Psn. 102:16, Jer. 33:14-15, I.uke 21:21, Eze. 21:27). (ti) Unprecedented preparation for war (Eze. 28:7, Joel 3:1-2, Joel 3:9 Rev. 16:1-1). (e) “Distress of nations with perplexity” (Luke 21:25). (f) Increase of knowledge and rapidity of transit (Dan. 12.4). ' (3) THAT as al) the prophecies referred to above arc being fulfilled at the present time this not only proves that the second coming of Christ is imminent. but it also proves that t.ho Bible is the Word of God, for FULFILMENT OF PROPHECY PROVES THE BIBLE TO BE THE WORD OF GOD (II Pet. 1:19-21, Deut. 18:21-22, Isa. 46:9-10). N.B.—Reasons will be advanced why tlie events referred to in section (2) under a. b, c ami d are closely related to each olher, and why their present-day dccurrenco plainly indicates that the foretold terrible invasion of the Hole Lam] is now imminent. (Eze. 38, Dan. 11:40-45, Zech. 11:2, etc.). “AND THERE SHALL BE SIGNS . . . AND THEN SHALL THEY SEE THE SON OF MAN COMING WITH POWER AND GREAT’GLORY” (Luke 21:25-27). Questions Invited.
