NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that It is the intention of the Carterton Borough Council to introduce in the present Session of Parliament the Carterton Borough Empowering Bill. The objects and purport of the Bill are as follows:—(1) To authorize the Council to raise a Loan of Thirty Thousand Pounds (or such greater sum as may be approved of by the Minister of Health) by way of Special Order, for additional drainage works within the Borough. (2) To provide that on the raising of the said proposed Special Loan the rates made and levied in respect of previous Special Loans for drainage works shall extend to the lands described in the First Schedule to the Bill, 1.3; (I) To authorize 4)nd require the Carterton Borough Council after the raising of the Loan to wake and levy annually a consolidated Special Kale oq properties described in the First aud Second Schedules to the Bill, (ii) To provide that such rates shall be a general rate. (iii) To provide that on the making of every such general rate the original special rates shall be provisionally suspended. (4) To provide that the security of the original Special Rates shall not be affected. (5) To provide that the Crown’s liability for Special Rates shall nor be affected. (6) To provide that 1 Hie liability'of any Fire Board for Special Hates shall not be affected.
