JULY .19, 19-14, At 11 o’clock Sharp. 900 REGISTERED SOUTHDOWN’S, Com prising:— 550 mixed age ewes mated with stud sires 170 ewe hoggets 100 ram hoggets 80 shearling rams Owing to several present-day difficulties, Mr. Reid has decided to dispose of his complete Southdown Flock No. 307. A prominent breeder for many years, Mr. Reid was first associated with his father, the late Mr. W Reid, and since 1919 has been breeding on his own account. Founded on ewes from the flock which he then was controlling for W. Reid aud Son, .the present stud was later added Jo with ewes from A. Houghton (Fl. 163). W. and W. Page (Fl. 381). A. G. Bayliss (Fl. 927), 11. W. Collier (Fl. 466), and Estate A. J. Faulkner (Fl. 290). Mr. Reid showed representative sheep from the flock with great success over a number of years, and recorded also high average sales of rams, some of which on occasions were exported to Australia. At one time the flock was one of. if not the largest, in Hie Southdown breed, but latterly has been somewhat reduced.
