TRENTHAM RUNNERS AT AWAPUNI
I Dominion Special Service. PALMERSTON N„ June 29. Awapunt horses with engagements at ! Trentham were allowed to run along on the rails this morning, but nothing of an outstanding nature was seep, the track being holding. Gold Bridge and,The Champ went over three flights of hurdles, and both gave an Improved display. Authoress, Sandy Cape and Young Charles gave a grand display over four hurdles, all jumping beautifully. Authoress took no harm from her fall at the Catriotle meeting. A. Jenkins will again e her pilot at Trentham. Colonel Bogey went twice round, giving a sound display. Anglo-Irish showed his aptitude in a bout over three obstacles. Sporting Gold jumped six hurdles nicely. He has done well of late. Northfield was another to go twice round, making no mistakes, with plenty of pace on. Moderate and Lightfalr went over six hurdles. Both jumped excellently. Lady Midian was given a trial over the hurdles and jumped nicely for a novice. Ship Ahoy went once round the steeplechase country and jumped bls fences evenly. Sir Bradbury left five furlongs behind In 1.7. He looks well. Golden Tide was only galloping the last three furlongs of a round, which she ran in 42. Wings of Song, who is coming to hand, ran five furlongs in 1.10. A good effort went to the credit of Classform, who beat Hakim, a lazy worker, over seven furlongs in 1.36 3-5, the last three in 41 1-3. Kinsman, now in R. Beale's team, and Impromptu came homo from the threefurlong peg in 40 3-5. Pennyroyal had Obsenatorv as a companion over six furlongs, run 'ln 1.21 2-5. Phalaria was ahead of Tau-uru throughout seven furlongs in 1.35. Abdicate was too good for Greek Effort at the end of a mile rnn in 1.49 2-5, the last three furlongs In 42 2-5. Signal Light, who is now being trained by L. Knapp, took 1-13 to run five furlongs. At Hastings on Saturday S. Waddell will ride Mr. Valiant, Ansar and Kincrop. A. G. Waddell will be on Catterlck Bridge.
