N.Z.R.S.A. OFFICERS
Mr. B. J. Jacobs, President The Dominion council of the New Zealand R.S.A., in annual conference in Wellington yesterday, elected these officers: President, Mr. B. J. Jaeobs (Palmerston North); Dominion vice-president, Mr. C. O. Bell (Wellington), elected unopposed; Dominion treasurer, Mr.'J. D. Harper (Wellington); district vice-presi-dents, Messrs A. B. Postlewaite (Auckland). B. Malone, Te Awamutu (Wai-kato-Bay of Plenty), A. W. Mewton, Palmerston North (Wellington-Taranaki-West Coast), G. B. Menzies, Napier (Wellington-East Coast), G. Walker, Timaru (Canterbury-Nelson-Marlborough-Westland), W. D. Skelton, Gore (OtagoSouthland) ; Dominion executive committee, Messrs. T. G. Taylor, W. D. Haydon, R. Fenton, E. F. Willcox (all Wellington); C. J- Tustin (Hutt Valley) ; canteen board representative, Colonel M. Aldred; N.Z. Farmers’ Union representative, Mr. W. Horrobin; Order of St. John and Red Cross Society council representatives, Messrs E. C. Hale and H. B. Burdekin. • "You have'had a lot of good things said of you; I believe they are true,” said Major-General Sir Andrew Russell to Mr. Jacobs in declaring him elected unopposed. . . “I hope to see as many associations as possible working in their own homes during my ensuing term,” said Mr. Jacobs, in reply. Mr. C. W. Batten (Wellington) did not seek re-election to the executive. Appreciation was expressed of his work for the association over the past 26 years; also that of Mr. A. T. Duncan, who, for health reasons, did not seek re-election. Onehunga retained the cup for securing the largest percentage of members from returned servicemen of the present war, Mr. H. O. Heighten received it for the branch. New Executive Set Up. The constitution of the N.Z.R.S.A. was altered by vote of the conference. The result is to make the Dominion executive committee the Dominion standing committee, and the new Dominion executive will meet quarterly or ao required. The executive will include, in addition to the standing committee, five members frtim outside Wellington elected from the annual conference, and the six dis-
trict vice-presidents. The former position was a Dominion executive committee of one member representing each district plus five elected from the conference. All but two belonged to Wellington. The new set-up strengthens the Dominion executive by five members from outside Wellington.
