TRANSTASMAN AIR SERVICE
SYDNEY, June 28. An offer to operate a land-plane service between Australia and New Zealand is reported to have been made to the Commonwealth Government by Australian National Airways. The organization is prepared to use large-type aircraft capable of flying from Australia to New Zealand and back in one day. Australian National Airways, who are the largest airline operators in Australia, have not yet received a Government reply to tbeir offer. , , , A denial that his firm contemplated operating such a land-plane service to New Zealand before tht end of the war has been made by the managing director of Australian National Airways, Captain Holman. He said that machines suitable for the service were not at present available, nor was there any earlier prospect of their being acquired.
