BULLER PROBLEMS

(By Telegraph —Press Association.) AVESTI’ORT, June 28. Visiting Crown Ministers, Mr. AA’ebb. Mr. Semple, and Mr. McLagan. also the Coal Mines Council. Under-Secretary of Marine, and the General Manager of Railways. were last evening interviewed by a deputation of coal bodies. The subjects discussed included AA'cstport harbour improvements. electric power supply in the Buller district, the development of lime works at Cape Foulwind, and of the flax industry in the Buller improvement of railway passenger facilities, rehabilitation work, afforestation, development of pakihi lands, and construction of a railway nnd road to Charleston to enable coal transport to be more easily and cheaplv handled. The deputation was given a very favourable hearing. Mr. Semple said the harbour question would be brought before the Marine Department. The harbour must be fully developed to enable coal shipments to be expedited.
