SMART.—On June 24, 1944, at Christchurch, Frances Sophia, widow of the late Jimon Page Smart, and loved mother of Army,’Laura. Lilian, May and William; in her 91st year. Absent from the body, present with the Lord. SMITH.—On June 26, 1944, at Masterton, Hector Hillier Smith, of Gladstone; in his 56th year. WEST—On June 27, 1944, at Wellington (suddenly), Esther, widow of the late Hector Porteous West, 1 Winslow Flats, 7 Aro Street, and dearly loved mother of Hector (overseas), Edith and Nosta.
