Told Invasion Had Failed LONDON, June 26. German soldier's captured in Russia yesterday said they had been told that the invasion of Euyope had ended in disaster for the. Allies. This is reported byMoscow radio. which says: “There is no doubt that the invasion has ended in disaster, but it is disaster for the Germans, not for the Allies.’’ A German order of the day read: "Hold out steadfastly in the east —we have taken care of the British and the Americans in the west. We are about to throw the last of the invaders into ttie Channel. They have nowhere. to retreat to. The south-eastern region of England is a sea of flames.” Prisoners reported that they had been told fresh reserves would soon arrive on the eastern front because of the "failure ’ of the Allied invasion.
