PRISON CAMPS
The Prisoners of War Inquiry Office .headquarters has received cabled advice concerning the visit of the International Red Cross representative to the- following camps:— . Stalag XI B.—Visited at the end of April. The hygienic installations are excellent. regular showers are available, comforts parcels are received regularly, and sports are enthusiastically played. There is a camp hospital with good retaliations, and,the wards are adequately lit, and there are suitable beds which are well spaced from one another. Stalag 383.—Visited during April. The accommodation arrangements have improved since the last visit, as six new barracks have been built. Food parcels arrive regularly and there is a reserve of sevefo weeks’ supply at the camp. Recreation facilities are provided. Mail from home has arrived within eight to ten weeks on many occasions. The camp gave a favourable-impression. ©flag Vli B.—Visited during April. A new chapel has been built since the last visit. Hygiene is good, and dental supplies are satisfactory. Study courses are well attended, A reserve of food parcels sufficient to cover requirements for 20 weeks has been established. Threehour daily walks are arranged for groups of 100.
