WASHDYKE MEETING
Track Will Be Holding Dominion Special Service. CHRISTCHURCH, June 23. The South Canterbury Jockey Club will hold its winter meeting at 'Washdyke tomorrow. The track will be holding. A few horses are carded for two races and final decisions regarding their engagements will not be made till the arrival on the course. The state of the going and the supply of riders will no doubt be deciding factors. These dual acceptors include Grecian Glow, Immediate, and Bill Gundi, who are in both the Smithfield and Rosewill Hack Handicaps. Grecian Glow has a severe task in both races, in which he will be ridden by W. F. Ellis, but his form in heavy ground at Wingatui was outstanding. L. J. Ellis has been engaged to ride Immediate and Sir Gundi at the meeting aiid as the former is invariably slow' in finding his feet, the concluding race would seem to be his right mission. Hearth is in both the Timaru Cup and Doncaster Handicap, and, with track conditions not favouring her, she will no doubt be reserved for the sprint. There will not be any brackets in the galloping events. Horatio Nelson and Worthy Prince will be bracketed in the Gladstone Trot. Riding engagements are: C. Mackie, Lindas. Lyndon Lea: C.
