Winter Meeting At Hastings

Fields for the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club’s winter meeting at Hastings today are eonilned largely to horses trained in Napier and Hastings, the transport restrictions preventing the usual team ot visitors from the Manawatu area. The weather in Hastings thi<s week has been changeable, and the track is in easy condition, but not likely to be very heavy. The form should prove interesting, tor most of the Hawke's Bay horses who are to race at Trentham next month are engaged. Betting will be win and place, and the following horses are likely to be well supported:— Hastings Hack Hurdles —Blue Title, Alienate, Combination. Hastings Maiden —First division: Beneve, Ann Hatlield, Laurium. Second division: Foxspear, Dark Morning, Casilda. Hawke’s Bay Hurdles—Epping, Pomplt, First Edition. Havelock Handicap—Findon, Hula Chief, Skyhawk. Hawke's Bay Steeplechase—Opaltown, Rhodes, Lueulliis Boy. Rotopal Handicap—Queen’s Charm, Mr. Valiant, Haughty Queen. Winter Handicap—Regal Night, Catterick Bridge, Boulder Dam. Final Handicap—Hula Chief, Kincrop, Walk Oft.
