Taranaki Seeks Matches The management committee of the Wellington Rugby Union last night received a letter from the Taranaki union, stating that it would like to have liome-and-home matches with Wellington this season, as Taranaki had a particularly good team a present. The Taranaki union also stated that it was anxious to play school games this season with Te Ante College and bt. Patrick’s College, and asked whether permits to travel by rail were likely to be granted. It was decided to make inquiries regarding permission to travel by rah. s'he Auckland union wrote, confirming September 9 as the date for the Auck-land-Wellington representative match at Wellington, and September 23 as the date for the return match at Auckland. Millard, said that there would not be time to play a lull second round of games in the Hardham Cup competition, but care would be taken to see that the top teams were drawn to meet each other.
